This past weekend, Corey and I took a road trip back home to Tomball, Texas. Every time I go back, something new has popped up and I don't think four corners can get any more congested. Well, the bypass helps out tremendously; that's right, a bypass. Tomball is that big! During our stay we had lots of visiting to do and a new little one to meet, Wesley Riedel. As most of you know, Cayden and Lizzie (Wesley's big sister) are about 6 weeks apart and now, by chance, Mckinley and Wesley share that coincidence. What fun we'll have as our babies grow up!! We also got a chance to visit with my grandma, grandpa, my Aunt Irene and Uncle Michael and my dad. We were busy needless to say. Traveling with two will take some practice and much thought out planning.

The kiddos enjoyed playing together and got along wonderfully. Hey, they are about to be 2 years old, so I imagine it won't always be so blissful.

At my parents house, my brother Marcus, Corey and Paul hung a tire swing for Cayden. It was his first time on such a swing and he spent most of his time looking down at the ground. I think he was fascinated by the way the ground looked as he swung. He loves being outside, so I can already see him spending much of his time swinging on his new toy.

Since Mckinley is sleeping so much these early days, I've really been able to spend time with Cayden. I was worried about how he might take to her, but so far it's been a sweet time. He has gotten more affectionate so I'm loving that! He's a busy 22 month old, so he rarely slows down to visit with me, much less her. There are times though that he'll stop her swing to "share" his truck with her or pull on her feet as she's sleeping in the play pen or try to give kisses while she's nursing. I can already see them being playmates. Even though at this point, her days will be filled Tonka trucks, blocks, race car tracks and balls. I know she'll still love it. What a gift a sibling is!!

So I know that I'm super behind; Mckinley is already 6 weeks old this Wednesday. I seem to have a hard time finding the time. Who knew? Things have been slow moving around here. Cayden has been dealing with ear infections and high temperatures lately. Poor little guy. It's hard b/c he wants to love on his sister, but I'm also trying to protect her. It's a hard balance. Overall, things are getting better. Initially it was overwhelming, but I'm a quick learner. :) I got my groove back, but not to say that the day is not without it's challenges. I'm enjoying this sweet short time with my babies!!
